Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

“Most people aren’t born being comfortable creating content on social media, it’s a very vulnerable thing.”

One of the standout topics Lucas discussed was overcoming imposter syndrome. He emphasized that feeling vulnerable while creating content is completely normal. Most people aren’t inherently comfortable putting themselves out there on social media. Lucas shared his personal struggles with imposter syndrome and how he managed to push through it by focusing on his passion and the positive impact he could make.

Evolution of Content Creation

“Regardless of your niche, being a content creator does have some standard things that are important to know.”

Lucas’s journey as a content creator began with making lessons for his classroom. Over time, this evolved into creating educational content for social media. He highlighted the importance of evolving as a creator and adapting your content to fit different platforms and audiences. Lucas believes that no matter your niche, certain foundational principles—like consistency, authenticity, and engagement—are crucial for success.

Balancing Teaching and Content Creation

“Set a small benchmark that you want to reach…make sure that you are at least showing up, at least for a small bit for the thing that you are trying to grow on the side.”

For about four years, Lucas balanced his job as a teacher with his growing career as a content creator. Teaching was his priority, but he found ways to contribute to his content creation business daily. Lucas stressed the importance of setting small, achievable benchmarks and making consistent efforts toward your goals, even if it’s just a small daily task. This approach helped him steadily grow his side hustle into a full-time career.
